What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Nissan Armada?

At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair. Because this is a large SUV, you’ll also want to focus on how well the cabin electronics, ride quality, and braking feel in real-world use. If you’re comparing multiple listings, pay close attention to condition differences, since the market includes both cleaner examples and vehicles with incident history.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SV gets an 8-inch touchscreen, HD Radio, NissanConnect, parking sensors front and rear, a 13-speaker Bose stereo, navigation, heated power seats, auto LEDs, roof rails, running boards, keyless entry and ignition, and a rear-view camera. The SL adds a 360-degree top-down camera, leather, remote engine start, driver memory functions, auto wipers, and 20-inch wheels, while the Platinum adds front-seat ventilation, a rear entertainment system, power-folding heated mirrors, lane-departure warning and intervention, and the Intelligent Rear View Mirror.
• Powertrain: Every Armada uses a 5.6-liter V8 with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive versions are rated at 16 mpg combined, 14 mpg city, and 19 mpg highway, while AWD trims lose 1 mpg in each column. The engine delivers 390 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque, with 8,500 pounds of towing capacity and a 6.5-second 0-60 time.
• Safety package: The Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and warning, and forward collision warning with avoidance braking front and rear. It is recommended on the SL, and the Platinum includes it. The base SV cannot access most of the safety features, and lane-departure warning and the Intelligent Rear View Mirror are reserved for the Platinum.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen, NissanConnect, HD Radio, and extra USB ports. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, and the system is described as dated.
• Fuel efficiency: The Armada is rated at 16 mpg combined, 14 mpg city, and 19 mpg highway in rear-wheel-drive form, and AWD trims lose 1 mpg in each column.

Which 2018 Nissan Armada trim should I buy?

The 2018 Nissan Armada is offered in 3 trim levels: SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• SV: This is the entry point, and it already brings a lot of equipment, including the 8-inch touchscreen, Bose audio, navigation, parking sensors, heated power seats, and a rear-view camera. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the more advanced safety and convenience features.
• SL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 360-degree camera, leather, remote start, driver memory, auto wipers, and 20-inch wheels. It also unlocks the Technology Package, which is the key safety upgrade path.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-focused choice, adding front-seat ventilation, rear entertainment, power-folding heated mirrors, lane-departure warning and intervention, and the Intelligent Rear View Mirror. It suits you best if you want the most upscale Armada and the most complete safety and convenience setup.

The safest starting point is the SL with the Technology Package, since the base SV can’t access most of the safety features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Armada?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 951 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,640, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Nissan Armada's resale value?

The current average of $15,640 sits slightly below last year's $18,348.

That price movement suggests the Armada has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number. If you purchase near the current market average or below it, you may have less downside than someone who bought when prices were higher. The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand, especially among shoppers who value space, comfort, and a premium-feeling cabin.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Nissan Armada safe?

The 2018 Nissan Armada has not been crash-tested by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety story here is mostly about equipment and trim strategy. The SL with the Technology Package is the recommended starting point for safety, since it adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and warning, and forward collision warning with avoidance braking front and rear. The base SV can’t access most of those features, and lane-departure warning plus the Intelligent Rear View Mirror are reserved for the Platinum.

Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Armada or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan added extra standard technology and kept the Armada’s premium-feeling, family-hauler character.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $14,521, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,640 average.
• It offers a redesigned cabin with a more car-like feel and a comfortable, refined interior.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped, fresher-feeling choice, the 2018 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Armada’s core strengths.
