Used 2018 Kia Stinger for Sale nearAlbany, NY

How much does the 2018 Kia Stinger cost?

Prices have softened 3.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 300 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of options to compare.

Is the 2018 Kia Stinger a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Kia Stinger earns a 4.87/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise the powerful engine, attractive interior, and sporty feel. That lines up with the car’s role as an upscale performance car, especially if you want something that blends style, technology, and driving character rather than a purely practical daily driver.

The market also shows 28.3% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Kia Stinger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.87/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to enthusiasts: strong performance, a polished cabin, and a sporty personality that keeps the car feeling special over time. The expert review also emphasizes that the Stinger is built to be taken seriously as a real-deal four-door sports car, which supports the idea that it’s engineered for sustained use rather than short-term novelty.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that a performance-oriented car can be more sensitive to maintenance history and prior use, so condition and service records matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Kia Stinger?

At 57% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim car with more equipment and more complex systems. Pay close attention to body condition, wheel and tire wear, and whether the car’s features work as expected, since the Stinger’s appeal depends heavily on its performance and technology.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 2.0L comes with Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, a reversing camera, leather seating, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime head- and taillights, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, dual exhaust, a 7-inch touchscreen, a 12-way power adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic temperature control. The Premium adds a power moonroof, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a larger 7-inch TFT instrument display, an electronic parking brake, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a 15-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system. The GT adds 19-inch alloy wheels, an upgraded grille, additional side accents, a rear diffuser, aluminum center-console accents, door-sill plates, pedals, a GT headrest inscription, and a performance-oriented flat-bottom steering wheel. The GT1 adds many Premium features plus electronically controlled suspension, auto-dimming side mirrors, and extra performance gauges. The GT2 adds a limited-slip differential, low-beam dynamic headlight assist, power smart trunk, upgraded premium Nappa leather seat trim, a 16-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a 12-way power front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, and more driver-assistance systems. The GT2 is the best-equipped choice, but the Premium is the best-value trim if you want more comfort and tech without going all the way to the top.

• Powertrain: The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The GT uses a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Both engines use an 8-speed automatic transmission, and you can get rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The 4-cylinder is the efficiency-minded choice, while the V6 is the one to seek if you want the Stinger’s full performance character.

• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes front and side-impact airbags, front and rear crumple zones, a child-seat anchoring system, electronic stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines, and front and rear parking sensors. The GT2 adds blind-spot detection, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, driver-attention warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist, while those features are optional on the rest of the lineup. The GT2 is the trim to target if you want the most complete safety package.

• Infotainment: The base 2.0L and GT use a 7-inch UVO infotainment system, while the Premium, GT1, and GT2 get the larger 8-inch UVO system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims, and the larger screen includes navigation. The GT2 also adds a head-up display.

• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter turbo with AWD is rated at 21 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined, while the RWD version does just a bit better at 22 city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The twin-turbo V6 with AWD is estimated at 19 mpg city, 25 highway, and 21 combined, and the RWD version is rated the same.

Which 2018 Kia Stinger trim should I buy?

The 2018 Kia Stinger is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0L, Premium, GT, GT1, and GT2.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0L: This is the entry point, but it still gives you a strong equipment list with leather seating, a reversing camera, heated front seats, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the Stinger look and feel at the lowest price.

• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger touchscreen, premium audio, moonroof, and extra convenience features without jumping to the more expensive performance-focused trims.

• GT: Choose this if you want the stronger V6 powertrain and the more aggressive exterior and cabin details that make the Stinger feel like a true performance car.

• GT1: This trim is for you if you want a more complete blend of comfort and performance, since it adds electronically controlled suspension and extra performance gauges on top of many Premium features.

• GT2: This is the top choice if you want the most complete Stinger experience, including the limited-slip differential, ventilated front seats, upgraded leather, and the fullest safety feature set.

The GT2 is the trim with the most advanced safety equipment, while the rest of the lineup leaves several driver-assistance features optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Stinger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 300 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,904, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Stinger's resale value?

The current average of $19,919 sits slightly below last year's $20,733.

That softer pricing trend suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless the car is especially clean and well maintained. If you’re planning to sell later, condition and trim choice will matter a lot, because better-equipped examples should stay more appealing to used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.87/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Kia Stinger safe?

The 2018 Kia Stinger earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include front and side-impact airbags, front and rear crumple zones, a child-seat anchoring system, electronic stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines, and front and rear parking sensors. The GT2 adds blind-spot detection, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, driver-attention warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist, while those features are optional on the rest of the lineup.

The review also notes that the large C-pillars and sloping roof create poor rearward visibility, so you’ll want to pay close attention to visibility and driver-assistance coverage when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Stinger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Prices have softened 3.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.87/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the debut year for Kia’s upscale four-door sports car, and the expert review highlights its strong performance, attractive design, and value.

The bottom line: The 2018 model is the right pick if you want the original Stinger experience and you’re focused on performance, style, and value. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the softer pricing and decent inventory make this a good year to target, but you should be especially selective about condition and accident history.
