Why it stands out
The 2018 Hyundai Sonata distinguishes itself in the competitive midsize sedan market through a combination of reliability, value, and comfort. With substantial improvements in styling, especially at the front end, the Sonata now offers a more upscale appearance that is appealing to potential buyers. Performance is enhanced by the availability of a turbocharged engine, which can produce an impressive 260 lb-ft of torque and 245 horsepower, making driving more enjoyable. The Sonata is also equipped with advanced safety features that are standard across all trims, including blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist, contributing to its reputation as a safe choice for families. Moreover, the Sonata offers a spacious interior and trunk, demonstrating its practicality for everyday use.
Additionally, the Sonata's cost-effectiveness is notable, as it often comes with dealer discounts, a strong warranty, and free Blue Link services for three years, making it a budget-friendly option in a segment that has seen declining sales. While it may not be the most exciting option in its class, the combined value, space, and features make it a strong contender for buyers prioritizing comfort and safety.

2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited is a great value. Tons of features in this model. Not worth paying $2k extra audio and other features (theyre really cool, but not worth that much extra). Among the Sonatas less-known benefits are a large (18.5 gallon) gas tank, larger trunk than comparable models, great turning radius, better interior and warmer seat heaters than comparable models such as Honda Accord. (Sonatas resale value isnt as high as Accord, but it should be, imo.) Tons of front-seat legroom, good size sunroof and less obstruction when youre looking at traffic through rear-view mirror. My 2nd Sonata, and the first had very few maintenance issues. Really reliable car with good gas mileage.

Smooth, quiet ride. Handles nicely. Lane assist is a nice feature. Helps immensely in bad weather when lane lines are hard to see.
