Used 2018 Honda HR-V for Sale nearFort Pierce, FL

How much does the 2018 Honda HR-V cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 1,083 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Honda HR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Honda HR-V earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, great gas mileage, and user-friendly features, and they also highlight the interior versatility that makes it especially appealing for family use. In practical terms, that lines up with the HR-V’s city-friendly footprint and crossover utility, so you get a small vehicle that still feels useful for everyday errands and commuting. The market also shows 32.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Honda HR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a car they can count on for daily commuting. The driving impression reinforces that sense of durability, with a composed ride and a calm, easygoing character at lower speeds. Honda also positions it as a practical, well-built crossover with a more premium cabin than you might expect at this size.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the HR-V’s older powertrain and dated tech can make it feel less current than newer rivals, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda HR-V?

At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim level being advertised. Because this model’s appeal is tied to practicality and value, you’ll want to make sure the interior, visibility, and everyday usability are still in good shape.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX has similar alloys in one color, while EX and EX-L trims get two-tone 17-inch wheels. Only EX-L trims come with leather, and the EX-L also offers more exterior color choices, so the lower trims are the ones where feature gaps are most noticeable.
• Powertrain: A single 1.8-liter 4-cylinder makes 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque across all trims. The front-wheel-drive LX and EX can be had with Honda’s 6-speed manual, while all-wheel drive is optional on all trims and pairs with the CVT.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a multi-angle reversing camera, and optional LaneWatch uses a camera in the right side-view mirror to show the blind spot on the central screen. Forward-collision alert, blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, and other electronic safety features are not available.
• Infotainment: The system does not support Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It also has slow response times, low-resolution maps, and confusing menus, while SiriusXM and HD Radio come on the top trim.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is EPA rated at between 25 and 27 mpg city and 31 and 34 mpg highway. The AWD EX-L is rated at 27/31, and the CVT is part of the setup when you choose all-wheel drive.

Which 2018 Honda HR-V trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda HR-V is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the HR-V’s core practicality at the lowest starting price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the most affordable way into the model and are comfortable with the simpler equipment set.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday appeal without pushing you into the highest price tier. It also keeps the manual-transmission option on front-wheel-drive models, which is a plus if you want a more engaging setup.
• EX-L: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale feel in the lineup. It adds leather and the most generous feature set, but it also sits closest to the point where the HR-V’s value proposition starts to weaken.

Safety-wise, the HR-V does not offer forward-collision alert with auto-braking, and that limitation keeps it from earning a Top Safety Pick.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,083 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,348, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $15,927 sits slightly below last year's $16,012.

That small decline suggests the HR-V has been holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply up or down. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern usually means you’re dealing with a market that rewards clean condition, good history, and the right trim more than simple waiting. If your HR-V is well maintained and accident-free, you should be in a better position to attract buyers when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Honda HR-V safe?

The 2018 Honda HR-V earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash tests and four-star ratings in frontal crashes. It scored the top Good rating in four of five crash tests conducted by IIHS, with an Acceptable rating for front side overlap, and it is not a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda’s standard multi-angle reversing camera is a useful everyday safety feature, and optional LaneWatch adds a camera-based view of the right-side blind spot on the central screen. However, forward-collision alert, blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, and other electronic safety features are not available, which is a notable gap compared with newer rivals. The IIHS result also leaves a caveat for shoppers who want the strongest possible crash-test performance.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 model stands out for its city-friendly size, practical versatility, and value positioning below the CR-V.

The bottom line: If you want a used HR-V with stable pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a practical crossover layout, the 2018 is a sensible choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can shop this year confidently, but you should be selective about condition and history because a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents.
