What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Fit?

At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim being advertised. Because some owners mention misleading mileage claims from sellers, it also makes sense to verify the odometer reading and service history closely.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX comes standard with power locks, power windows, air conditioning, a power moonroof, a four-speaker stereo, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB port. The Sport adds 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, an upgraded lower front spoiler, side underbody spoilers, a 6-speaker stereo, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The EX adds push-button start, cargo tie-downs, SiriusXM satellite radio, telescoping sun visors, and SmartLock. The EX-L adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated body-color side mirrors, and integrated turn signals in both mirrors.
• Powertrain: There is one 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine. With the CVT, it makes 128 hp and 113 lb-ft of torque, and the CVT models are the ones that get the stronger fuel-economy estimates. The manual transmission is available on the Fit, while Sport, EX, and EX-L models with the CVT also get steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on the EX and EX-L, and available on the LX and Sport only with the CVT. The suite includes forward-collision warning and avoidance, lane-departure warning, and road-departure mitigation.
• Infotainment: The Sport, EX, and EX-L trims get a 7-inch touchscreen. Every model but the LX comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: With the CVT, EPA estimates are 33 mpg city and 40 highway. With the 6-speed manual, EPA estimates are 29 mpg city and 36 highway.

Which 2018 Honda Fit trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda Fit is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value entry point if you want the Fit’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get power locks, power windows, air conditioning, a power moonroof, Bluetooth, and a USB port, but you miss out on the richer infotainment and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 7-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker stereo, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, fog lights, and exterior styling upgrades without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• EX: This is the smart step-up if you want more convenience and safety tech. You get push-button start, cargo tie-downs, SiriusXM, telescoping sun visors, and SmartLock, plus Honda Sensing as standard equipment.
• EX-L: This is the comfort-focused choice. It adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated mirrors, and integrated turn signals in the mirrors, making it the most upscale version of the Fit.

Honda Sensing is standard on the EX and EX-L, and available on the LX and Sport only with the CVT.

What is the 2018 Honda Fit's resale value?

The current average of $15,310 sits slightly above last year's $14,392.

That year-over-year increase suggests the Fit has held buyer interest well, which is a positive sign if you plan to resell later. The current pricing also shows that demand remains healthy enough to keep values from softening much. For a future seller, that means a well-kept Fit with the right trim and clean history should remain relatively easy to move.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Fit or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.38% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 refresh brings more advanced safety features, an updated suspension for sharper handling, and the return of a Sport trim.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, practicality, and safety features, the 2018 is the right year to target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a different year may open up cheaper listings, but you may give up some of the 2018’s refreshed equipment and broad appeal.
