How much does the 2018 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 3.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,714 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Honda Accord earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, advanced technology, and ample interior space, and they also call out the sporty performance and more luxurious feel in higher trims. That lines up with the Accord’s role as a midsize family sedan that still aims to feel rewarding to drive, not just easy to live with. With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels reliable, with language around being dependable and trouble-free coming through in the broader praise for the model. The expert summary reinforces that impression by describing the Accord as reliable, roomy, efficient, and unpretentious, while also emphasizing its long-running reputation and everyday usability. Honda also includes HondaLink maintenance reminders, which can help you stay on top of routine service.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well, since condition and service history matter more than the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Accord?

At 48.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows uneven wear. Focus on condition details that can affect long-term satisfaction, including how the cabin, electronics, and drivetrain feel in real use. If you’re comparing multiple listings, the cleanest example with the best maintenance record is usually the safer buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the simplest version, and the base trim misses Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while higher trims add more upscale materials, more equipment, and a more luxurious feel.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbo four with 192 hp in 1.5T models, and a 2.0-liter turbo four with 252 hp in higher trims; the 1.5T is efficient and the 2.0T is the stronger, smoother choice.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing comes standard and includes auto-braking, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views; blind-spot monitoring is standard on the 2.0T Sport and EX trims and above.
• Infotainment: Honda’s infotainment system is quick and easy to use, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims except the base LX, and wireless device charging is standard on the Touring and optional on other trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5T CVT is rated at 30 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, while the 2.0T automatic is rated at 23 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

Which 2018 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it’s the most stripped-down version and skips Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so it makes the most sense only if you want the lowest price and can live with fewer convenience features.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment and keeps the Accord’s engaging character, while also being one of the trims where the stronger 2.0-liter engine is available.
• EX: This trim adds more comfort and convenience, and it also gets blind-spot monitoring, making it a smart step up if you want a better daily-driver balance.
• EX-L: This is the right pick if you want a more upscale feel and more premium features without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the most luxury and tech content, so it suits you best if you want the most feature-rich Accord.

Honda Sensing comes standard across the lineup, which is a major safety plus no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to find value.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,714 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 48.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,543, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $17,793 sits slightly below last year's $18,359.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The Accord’s broad appeal, strong owner satisfaction, and reputation for being reliable and efficient should help support demand over time. Higher-trim examples with the right equipment and clean history are likely to hold their appeal better than rougher, lower-spec cars.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord safe?

The 2018 Accord is rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, scoring the highest in all five crash tests and a separate crash-avoidance test that measures the auto-braking system.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing comes standard and includes auto-braking, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. Auto high beams, LED low-beam headlights, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views also come standard. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on the 2.0T Sport and EX trims and above.

A lower rating for the headlights kept the Accord from earning a Top Safety Pick+ rating, so that’s the main safety caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new 2018 model is described as especially appealing because it blends everyday practicality with a more engaging driving character than many rivals.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and broad usability, the 2018 is the right place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still shop nearby years, but the 2018 stands out for its all-new design, strong feature set, and favorable current pricing.

How does the 2018 Honda Accord compare to the 2018 Toyota Camry?

Our experts score the 2018 Honda Accord 8.2/10 and the 2018 Toyota Camry 8/10.

The Accord has the edge if you want a more engaging driving character and a broader spread of trims and powertrains. The Camry counters with slightly better highway fuel economy and a marginally higher accident-free share, while the Accord offers more listings and a slightly better good-and-great-deal share. If you value driving feel and shopping flexibility, the Accord is the stronger pick; if you want a straightforward alternative with strong efficiency, the Camry remains a solid comparison point.
