Why it stands out
The 2018 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends a roomy, well-appointed cabin with a restrained, upscale look. It has long been known for premium amenities, plush materials, and modern technology, and this generation continues that formula with a strong emphasis on passenger space and comfort. For buyers who want a large family hauler that feels substantial without being overly flashy, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
For this model year, the Yukon also benefits from the fourth generation’s broader improvements in refinement and convenience. The guide notes that this generation brought a standard eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, a standard Bose sound system, fold-flat second- and third-row seats, and added sound-deadening materials with laminated glass to help reduce cabin noise. It also offers a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8, along with a six-speed automatic for the 5.3-liter engine and an eight-speed automatic with the 6.2-liter unit. At the same time, the Yukon is not without drawbacks: the guide calls out poor fuel economy, uncomfortable seats, and interior materials that can feel cheap, so its strengths are best understood as space, capability, and a premium-feeling presence rather than outright efficiency or luxury-car polish.

Great vehicle. Tons of room for my family. Very little options because it’s a base model. But felt safer being a little higher up more like a truck.

The 2018 GMC Denali is an amazing Luxury SUV. It is elegant, roomy and entertaining for the family when going on long trips. It has plenty of power with the 6.2liter V-8 and the 10 speed automatic transmission saves gas. Whether your towing a boat or taking a family trip this SUV will make sure you get there with. Your loved ones and in style! I am happy with this vehicle and I am sure anyone that purchases one will be happy to.

Traded in our Buick Enclave for a 2018 Yukon. Car is very nice and solid. As a bad back kind of guy, I needed something extremely comfortable. The 2018 GMC Yukon filled the bill. Gas mileage is 22.4 a great increase from the Buicks 14. Has enough bells and whistles to satisfy my needs.

Is the 2018 GMC Yukon reliable?
Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners found reliable, comfortable, and easy to live with over time. The recurring praise for its dependable feel and long-term ownership satisfaction suggests that well-kept examples can be a sensible choice for used buyers. Your biggest risk is buying a neglected or poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter a lot.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 GMC Yukon?
At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of past collision work, and overall maintenance quality. Because this SUV is often bought for family use and long trips, you’ll want to pay close attention to how the cabin, seats, and major systems have held up.

What is the 2018 GMC Yukon's resale value?
The current average of $24,535 sits slightly below last year's $27,779.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation. Demand should remain supported by the Yukon’s roomy cabin and strong owner satisfaction.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.68% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a full-size SUV with a roomy cabin, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that currently favors careful shoppers, the 2018 is the primary year to target. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
