Used 2018 Ford Fusion for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2018 Ford Fusion cost?

Prices have softened 7.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,783 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Ford Fusion a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Ford Fusion earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

The Fusion’s appeal comes from its unusual breadth: you can shop it as a basic family sedan, a stylish daily driver, a hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, a luxurious sedan, or a genuine sports sedan. That variety makes it especially useful if you want a midsize car that can be tailored to different priorities.

The market also shows 30.1% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2018 Fusion is presented as a well-rounded midsize sedan with broad lineup coverage and strong overall balance. Its expert evaluation also points to a car that combines style, capability, and a wide spread of powertrain choices, which can help you match the car to your needs rather than settling for a one-size-fits-all setup.

The performance notes also support confidence in the car’s day-to-day durability: the Fusion Sport’s brakes resisted fade under serious duress, and the car remained composed even during hard driving. On the cost side, Ford’s willingness to offer incentives on this model helps keep ownership more approachable.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a car with this much variety can hide very different wear patterns depending on trim, engine, and how it was driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Ford Fusion?

At 59% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-output or more heavily optioned version. Pay close attention to body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s equipment and trim level match the listing description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans from the basic S to the SE, Titanium, Sport, Platinum, and hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, so you should compare equipment carefully. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add upscale finishes, more comfort features, and more technology.
• Powertrain: You can find a standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, turbocharged 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter 4-cylinders, and a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 in the Sport. Hybrid versions are rated at 42 mpg in combined driving, and plug-in hybrid versions deliver 97 MPGe with about 20 miles of electric range.
• Safety package: Ford includes a broad set of safety, driver-assistance, and collision-avoidance features, plus optional inflatable rear seat belts. The car also offers available driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies, though some equipment is not standard on every trim.
• Infotainment: Sync 3 is the key system to look for, and it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sync Connect with FordPass, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Siri Eyes Free, audible text messaging, and 911 Assist. It can also be paired with a Sony premium sound system and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid versions are rated at 42 mpg in combined driving, and the plug-in hybrid versions are rated at 97 MPGe.

Which 2018 Ford Fusion trim should I buy?

The 2018 Ford Fusion is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SE, Titanium, Sport, Platinum, and Fusion Energi.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Fusion’s core styling and size at the lowest starting price, but you should expect the fewest features.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the sweet spot between price and equipment, and the content specifically points to the SE with the optional turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and AWD as a rewarding daily driver.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more premium equipment without jumping all the way to the top-end luxury-oriented trim.
• Sport: This is the performance choice, with the twin-turbo V6, AWD, and adaptive damping suspension; it’s the one to buy if driving enjoyment matters most.
• Platinum: Pick this if you want the most luxurious gas-powered Fusion experience and are willing to pay for it.
• Fusion Energi: This is the plug-in hybrid path if you want electric driving capability and the efficiency benefits that come with it.

The safety content notes that the Fusion performs beautifully in IIHS assessments, but it also calls out better headlights and more easily accessible child safety seat anchors as areas to watch.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Fusion?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,783 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,518, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $11,518 sits slightly below last year's $12,462.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the car for a while. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because the Fusion still offers broad appeal across efficiency, comfort, and performance, cleaner examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Ford Fusion safe?

The 2018 Ford Fusion performs beautifully in all IIHS assessments, including the new front passenger’s side small overlap frontal impact test, though the IIHS does think it needs better headlights and more easily accessible child safety seat anchors.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford offers a broad set of safety, driver-assistance, and collision-avoidance features, and the car also includes optional inflatable rear seat belts. The available driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies add to its appeal, especially if you want a midsize sedan with a long feature list.

One caveat is the federal crash result: the Fusion receives a three-star crash protection rating for the front passenger, even though it earns top marks in the other NHTSA tests.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 Fusion stands out for its unusual breadth of lineup, including basic, stylish, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, luxury, and sports-sedan versions.

The bottom line: If you want the broadest mix of trims, powertrains, and personalities in a midsize sedan, the 2018 Fusion is the year to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than the newest badge.
