Is the 2018 Chrysler 300 reliable?

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chrysler 300?

At 51.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus closely on overall condition, since a large sedan like this can hide expensive wear if it has been driven hard or repaired poorly. It’s also smart to test the infotainment system carefully, because that’s one area owners have criticized.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chrysler 300?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 699 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,777, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chrysler 300's resale value?

The current average of $14,867 sits slightly below last year's $15,591.

That tells you the market has softened, which can work against you if you buy at the wrong price and plan to sell soon. On the other hand, the current dip may help you enter at a more favorable point if you expect to keep the car for several years. Strong demand for roomy, comfort-oriented sedans can still support future interest, especially when the car is well maintained and presented cleanly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,765, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $14,867 average.
• It offers a similarly spacious, luxury-leaning full-size sedan experience with a bold presence.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and inventory, the 2018 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2017 is the smarter value play.
