How much does the 2018 Chevrolet Volt cost?

There are 191 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Volt a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Chevrolet Volt earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its flexible hybrid system, its electric range of over 50 miles, and its overall fuel economy. It also fits well if you want a compact, urban-friendly car with modern tech and the ability to run on regular fuel. Is the 2018 Chevrolet Volt reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback describes the Volt as reliable and dependable, with owners appreciating its trouble-free hybrid setup and the confidence that comes from having both electric and gas power. That kind of long-term praise matters if you want a used car you can count on for daily driving and commuting.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the battery, charging system, and hybrid components have been well maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Volt?

At 70.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the battery system, charging behavior, and hybrid operation. You should also pay close attention to overall condition, since accident history can affect both reliability confidence and future resale value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Volt?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 191 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,878, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Volt's resale value?

The current average of $13,330 sits slightly below last year's $14,298.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that softer market. A clean history and strong maintenance records should matter more when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Volt or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2018 is a strong choice if you want the Volt’s mix of electric commuting range, gas backup, and broad owner approval, especially if you can find a clean example with a solid history. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
