How much does the 2018 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,172 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable number of options to compare.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.53/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, ride quality, powerful acceleration, and smooth handling, which fits a compact luxury sedan that is meant to feel engaging behind the wheel. The 2018 model also makes sense if you want a premium-feeling sedan with practical everyday usability and a broad range of powertrain and drivetrain choices. With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.53/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that many drivers find dependable in daily use, with praise centered on the smooth, trouble-free feel of the driving experience and the confidence it inspires over time. That said, used buyers should still think about long-term ownership risk carefully, since premium-car upkeep can add cost even when the car itself feels solid.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

At 57.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of uneven wear, repair quality, and any issues that could affect long-term ownership costs. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition rather than just mileage, since a well-kept example can be a better buy than a cheaper car with hidden problems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop with discipline.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,172 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,759, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $14,962 sits slightly below last year's $16,162.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you can expect at resale if you sell soon. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can still protect value better than the average listing. Demand should remain supported by the model's strong owner satisfaction and premium appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.53/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.53/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $20,382, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $14,962 average.
• It adds a more advanced software experience.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if value matters most, because it offers a lower average price and a softer market. If you want the newer-year experience and are willing to pay more, the 2019 is the better secondary path; otherwise, the 2018 is the smarter buy for price-sensitive shoppers who still want the core BMW 3 Series formula.
