Is the 2018 Audi A4 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Audi A4 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It also fits well if you want a compact luxury sedan that balances everyday usability with a premium feel. Is the 2018 Audi A4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for its smooth driving character and overall comfort. The recurring themes of being fun to drive, well-equipped, and satisfying over time suggest you can count on it for long-term use if you buy a well-kept example.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about broad owner dissatisfaction and more about choosing a car whose condition and maintenance history support trouble-free ownership.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi A4?

At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or electronics issues. Focus closely on overall condition, since a luxury sedan like this can be rewarding only if the previous owner maintained it carefully. Pay extra attention to signs of prior repairs, uneven panel gaps, and any warning lights or infotainment glitches during your test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Audi A4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,009 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,338, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $15,350 sits slightly below last year's $16,473.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter a lot, because buyers in this segment tend to compare many similar listings. A well-kept example with strong documentation should hold up better than one with visible wear or a spotty history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,265, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,350 average.
• The 2017 brings a redesigned, more modern-feeling foundation with strong technology appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall market balance, the 2018 is the better primary choice because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a favorable price trend and decent deal availability. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
