How much does the 2017 Volvo XC90 cost?

There are 1,108 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Volvo XC90 a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Volvo XC90 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its safety features, spacious interior, and upscale materials, and many also highlight its build quality. That lines up well with its role as a luxury midsize SUV for you if you want three rows, premium cabin feel, and family-friendly practicality. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Volvo XC90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free for many owners, with repeated praise for build quality and overall satisfaction. That kind of response suggests you can count on it as a long-term family SUV if you keep up with maintenance. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about owner sentiment and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Volvo XC90?

At 69.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, or wear that could point to harder use. Focus on overall condition first, because a clean-looking listing can still hide issues that matter for a luxury SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Volvo XC90?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,108 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,202, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Volvo XC90's resale value?

The current average of $15,202 sits slightly below last year's $17,936.

That price movement suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale upside may be more limited unless the vehicle is especially clean, well maintained, and attractively equipped. Strong condition and a good ownership record matter more when the broader market is already trending lower.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,683, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,202 average.
• It offers an all-new XC90 design with flexible seating and strong family practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the better balance of current pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a broad used-market selection, the 2017 is the primary path to consider. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
