How much does the 2017 Tesla Model S cost?

Is the 2017 Tesla Model S a good car?

Yes — the 4.73/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its performance, advanced technology, and luxurious feel, and many say it still feels cutting-edge years after release. That lines up well with the Model S’s role as a luxury electric sedan with a minimalist cabin, a large touchscreen, and a distinctly futuristic driving experience. With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Tesla Model S reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a car that many owners find dependable over time, with praise centered on its long-term appeal, advanced technology, and the sense that it still feels current years later. That kind of sustained enthusiasm matters for used buyers because it suggests the car can remain satisfying well into ownership if you choose a well-kept example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Tesla Model S?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the specific car’s condition and ownership history. Pay close attention to signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence that the car has had multiple owners in a short period. Because this model year can vary widely from one listing to another, the individual vehicle’s condition matters more than the badge alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Tesla Model S?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 423 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,514, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Tesla Model S's resale value?

The current average of $21,254 sits slightly below last year's $22,057.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless you choose a particularly desirable example. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition so it stands out when it’s time to list it again. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Tesla Model S or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

The 2017 Model S is a strong choice if you want the blend of range, performance, and futuristic cabin design that made this car stand out in the first place. If you want the best balance of value and selection, this year looks appealing; if you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the lowest-priced accident-free examples before deciding.
