How much does the 2017 Nissan Titan cost?

There are 1,136 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Nissan Titan a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Titan earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

User feedback consistently points to power, spaciousness, value for money, a smooth ride, and useful technology features. The overview also frames it as a serious full-size pickup alternative with real truck capability, while noting that it stands out for buyers who want something substantial without following the crowd.

With 30.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively and still find attractive examples.

Is the 2017 Nissan Titan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback emphasizes that the truck feels dependable and capable of handling heavy loads, with owners also praising its power and value. The expert drive notes that it hauled four adults and their luggage without much effort, which supports the sense that it can be counted on for real-world use.

The Titan also comes with an impressive 5-year/100,000-mile warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk for used buyers. Even so, you should still focus on maintenance history and overall condition, especially if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Titan?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on trucks that may have been used for towing or hard work. Pay close attention to body condition, interior wear, and signs of heavy use, since the Titan’s appeal depends a lot on how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Platinum Reserve stands out with polished 20-inch wheels, two-tone paint, and a two-tone brown leather interior with quilted stitching, while the base and mid-grade trucks are described as sufficient rather than luxurious.
• Powertrain: The truck uses a 5.6-liter V8 with 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 7-speed automatic; the XD version is positioned as the tougher option, and a 5.0-liter Cummins diesel V8 is mentioned for that model.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring is mentioned, but there are no driver-assist features like auto-braking or forward-collision alerts.
• Infotainment: The Titan has a 7-inch touchscreen, hard buttons for quick access, live traffic, voice recognition, Google destination search, Pandora and iHeartRadio app support, NissanConnect telematics, and a 360-degree camera system; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck is rated at 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, and the expert drive recorded an average of 17 mpg.

Which 2017 Nissan Titan trim should I buy?

The 2017 Nissan Titan is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Pro-4X, and Platinum Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Titan’s core capability at the lowest price and can live without the more upscale touches found higher up the range.
• SV: This is the trim most buyers should start with because it should give you a better balance of equipment and value than the base truck without pushing you into luxury-trim pricing.
• SL: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for a nicer cabin and added comfort.
• Pro-4X: This is the one to consider if you want the trail-tuned setup mentioned in the expert drive and expect to spend time in rougher conditions.
• Platinum Reserve: This is the best choice if you want the most premium Titan experience, with the standout styling and interior treatment called out in the expert review.

The safety content notes that the Titan lacks driver-assist features like auto-braking and forward-collision alerts, so you should not expect advanced standard safety tech on any trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Titan?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,136 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,287, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Titan's resale value?

The current average of $19,287 sits slightly below last year's $20,758.

That decline suggests the Titan has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer pricing environment than before. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, you can help protect your value better than the market trend alone might suggest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Nissan Titan safe?

The 2017 Nissan Titan scores a Marginal rating in the IIHS small front overlap crash test and Good ratings in the four other IIHS tests.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The Titan includes blind-spot monitoring, but it does not offer driver-assist features like auto-braking or forward-collision alerts. That means you should not expect a broad active-safety suite, and the IIHS small-overlap result is a meaningful caveat if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review calls it a real truck and highlights its strong capability, useful technology, and everyday usability.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a good path if you want a full-size pickup with strong owner satisfaction, a lower average price, and enough inventory to shop carefully. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the softer market makes this a sensible year to target, but you should be selective about condition and history because a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents.
