Used 2017 Mazda CX-9 for Sale near Pennsylvania

How much does the 2017 Mazda CX-9 cost?

Prices have softened 7.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 412 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-9 a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Mazda CX-9 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows why: you get a sporty driving feel, standard i-Activ AWD, an eight-speed automatic, and a premium-leaning cabin with a distinctive design. It also makes sense if you value driving enjoyment and upscale materials more than maximum interior space, since the CX-9 is smaller inside than class leaders and its infotainment can be fiddly. With 38.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-9 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle built around refinement and driving enjoyment, with Mazda’s AWD system, Sport and Off-Road modes, and Kinematic Posture Control all aimed at making it feel composed and engaging. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept and more about finding one that has been maintained well, since the cabin tech and ride quality can be areas where condition and upkeep matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mazda CX-9?

At 61.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of bodywork, uneven panel gaps, or wear that could point to harder use. You should also spend extra time evaluating the infotainment system, ride quality, and interior condition, since those are the areas where this model’s strengths and compromises are most noticeable.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mazda CX-9?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 412 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,758, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $14,758 sits slightly below last year's $16,022.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit softer, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and avoid examples with accident history, you should be in a better position to preserve value. The model’s appeal to shoppers who want a stylish, engaging three-row SUV can help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,207, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $14,758 average.
• It offers a more-for-less value proposition with a newly redesigned, upscale feel.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2017 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still delivers much of the CX-9’s appeal.
