How much does the 2017 Mazda CX-3 cost?

Prices are up 4.73% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 291 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the CX-3’s appeal centers on its upscale, driver-focused personality. The overview points to a compact crossover that feels more premium than many rivals, with a well-equipped cabin and standard safety tech that make it attractive if you want a small SUV with a polished feel.

Its main tradeoff is practicality: the back seat and cargo area are cramped, and the infotainment controls can be fussy. Even so, the market still shows 30.2% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle that was built with a strong equipment list and standard safety features from the start, which can help support confidence in daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mazda CX-3?

At 55.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the car’s structural and cosmetic condition. Focus especially on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any issues with the cabin electronics or infotainment system.

What is the 2017 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $14,344 sits slightly above last year's $13,697.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay a bit more for this model year, which can help support resale confidence if you buy well. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the vehicle carefully, you’re more likely to preserve value when it’s time to sell. Strong pricing at the low end of the range also gives you a better chance of limiting depreciation if you enter the market at the right number.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.73% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,895, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $14,344 average.
• It adds standard low-speed emergency braking and a quieter cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid demand. If you’re willing to pay more for added refinement and standard safety upgrades, the 2018 is the better secondary path.
