Used 2017 Lexus RX for Sale nearAtlanta, GA

How much does the 2017 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 3.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,300 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Lexus RX earns a 4.62/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the premium interior materials, great ride quality, and value for money. The RX also appeals if you want a refined daily driver with a smooth, relaxed feel rather than a sportier SUV.

The main trade-offs are limited cargo space and technology that can feel unintuitive. That means the RX fits you best if comfort and luxury matter more than maximum utility or a more engaging driving character.

With 38.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to shop selectively without feeling rushed.

Is the 2017 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on for everyday use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the RX’s good value and strong overall package, which supports the case for long-term ownership.

Lexus also frames the RX as a model with strong reliability and resale value, which is encouraging if you plan to keep it for years. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and equipped in a way that suits your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Lexus RX?

At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on the condition of the interior tech and convenience features, since the RX’s interface can be a pain point for some owners. If you’re considering a higher-trim example, make sure the added equipment is working properly and worth the premium.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The F Sport package adds 20-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, sport seats, a unique gauge cluster, a sport steering wheel, a sport shifter, aluminum trim, sporty exterior trim, and ambient lighting. The base form is more ordinary, while the F Sport is the trim that most clearly changes the RX’s character.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 295 hp and 267 lb-ft, paired with an 8-speed automatic. It’s tuned more for ride quality than straight-line speed, and the transmission is described as quick and well matched to the engine.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes dynamic cruise, auto high beams, lane-departure warning and assist, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard and requires an upgrade.
• Infotainment: The RX offers an 8-inch base display or an optional 12.3-inch panoramic HD display. The larger screen brings the remote-touch interface, but it does not add a touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA estimates are 20 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 combined.

Which 2017 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2017 Lexus RX is offered in 1 trim level: RX 350.

Here's the short version:

The RX 350 is the trim to focus on if you want the core Lexus comfort-and-value formula without overcomplicating the search. It already delivers the smooth ride, upscale cabin, and strong safety equipment that define this model year, and it’s the best fit if you want the RX’s main strengths at the most straightforward entry point.

The safety package is standard, but blind-spot monitoring still requires an upgrade, so verify the equipment list on any used example you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,300 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,232, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $23,711 sits slightly below last year's $24,561.

That price movement suggests the RX has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the model’s strong reputation for comfort, value, and owner satisfaction helps support demand. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, the RX should remain appealing to future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Lexus RX safe?

The 2017 Lexus RX earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in the individual overall front, driver front, and passenger front tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes dynamic cruise, auto high beams, lane-departure warning and assist, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard, so you’ll want to confirm whether a given used RX has that equipment if it matters to you.

The main caveat is the Acceptable IIHS headlight result, which is worth noting if you often drive at night.

Should I buy a 2017 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2017 broadens F Sport availability and adds standard Safety System + equipment.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $22,007, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $23,711 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and value with a smooth ride.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $26,435, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $23,711 average.
• It adds three-row seating for buyers who need extra passenger capacity.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of comfort, safety, and value, the 2017 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2016 is the better price-first choice. If you need extra seating, move to the 2018, but expect to pay more for that added flexibility.
