Should I buy a 2017 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 49% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.16% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $19,694, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $21,684 average.
• It emphasizes quiet comfort and easy daily use.

The bottom line: Choose the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of satisfaction, inventory, and pricing momentum. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better value-oriented path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
