Is the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its exceptional off-road capability, powerful engine, and high-end interior features, and many also like the infotainment system and added entertainment options. For you, that means this model fits especially well if you want a luxury SUV with serious presence, genuine capability, and a richly finished cabin. With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights a vehicle that feels dependable in the ways owners care about most, especially for capability, comfort, and day-to-day enjoyment. The summary also points to strong confidence in its long-term appeal, even if the model is known for complexity. For used buyers, that means the biggest ownership risk is less about whether the SUV is desirable and more about whether the specific example has been maintained well enough to avoid expensive surprises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Land Rover Range Rover?

At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to electrical systems, warning lights, and any signs of uneven wear or repair quality. Because this model is complex, condition matters more than mileage alone, so focus on how well the specific vehicle has been cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Land Rover Range Rover?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and disciplined.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 821 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,289, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover's resale value?

The current average of $20,301 sits slightly below last year's $23,684.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of future depreciation. The key for resale is to choose a well-documented example, because buyers in this segment tend to reward clean history and careful ownership.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-car price than it had a year ago. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth considering, but the 2017 stands out as a compelling choice when you find a clean, well-priced example with solid history.
