How much does the 2017 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 8.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,704 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 4.58/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers repeatedly praise its handling, comfortable ride, and fun driving experience, and many also value its performance and overall value. The 2017 Wrangler’s mix of rugged capability and everyday usability makes it appealing if you want a vehicle that stays true to the Wrangler formula while still offering more livability than earlier versions. With 35.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights performance, value, and a generally satisfying ownership experience, while also pointing to some condition-related concerns in the used market. That means long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about how well a specific example has been maintained and represented.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a hands-on inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. Focus closely on overall condition, since some owners have reported discrepancies between listing photos and the vehicle’s actual state. A careful test drive and a thorough pre-purchase inspection can help you separate a clean example from one that needs extra attention.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,704 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,968, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $18,968 sits slightly below last year's $20,834.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re thinking about future value, condition and documentation matter a lot because buyers tend to pay more for clean, well-kept examples. A Wrangler that presents well and has a strong ownership story should be easier to move later than one with visible wear or a questionable history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,385, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,968 average.
• It offers a distinctive, go-anywhere personality with simple, rugged appeal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $21,232, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $18,968 average.
• It was thoroughly improved in performance, practicality, and technology.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best fit if you want the Wrangler formula with strong owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal potential. If price is your top priority, the 2016 is the better value play; if you want the newer-generation improvements and can spend more, the 2018 is the upgrade path to consider.
