How much does the 2017 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 8.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,712 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 4.58/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its handling, comfortable ride, and fun driving experience, and many also value its performance and overall value. For you, that means this model year fits especially well if you want a vehicle with personality and capability rather than a conventional SUV experience. With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centered on performance and value alongside the Wrangler’s familiar rugged character. At the same time, some reviews mention condition-related concerns and missing conveniences, so used buyers should pay close attention to how each example has been maintained and presented. For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is not the model’s appeal but the condition of the specific vehicle you choose.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

At 69.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or repairs that may not show up in photos. Focus your condition check on the body, undercarriage, and overall maintenance quality, since those details matter more than mileage alone on a used Wrangler.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,712 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,880, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $18,880 sits slightly below last year's $20,714.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you can improve your odds of holding value better than the average listing. Demand should remain supported by the Wrangler’s strong owner satisfaction and distinctive appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,282, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,880 average.
• It offers iconic Wrangler character with simple, rugged appeal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $21,093, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $18,880 average.
• It brings a thoroughly improved reboot with better performance, practicality, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2017 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2016 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2018 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay more.
