CarGurus Analysis: 2017 INFINITI QX30
overall

Summary
With 202 currently listed for sale and an average price of $11,849, 31.2% of 2017 INFINITI QX30s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 INFINITI QX30 3.67 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8 / 10.
59.4% of 2017 QX30 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2017 INFINITI QX30 stands out because it was built in an unusual partnership: Mercedes-Benz supplied the GLA-Class platform, and Infiniti used it as the basis for its compact crossover. That backstory gives the QX30 a distinctive place in the lineup, especially since Infiniti had been looking for something fresh and new in a hurry. It also has a shape that can seem more like a wagon than a traditional SUV, which helps explain why it feels different from many other compact crossovers.
Behind the novelty, the 2017 INFINITI QX30 is described as plenty fun to drive, and owners generally praise its smooth driving experience. They also like its attractive design, advanced features, and beautiful interior. At the same time, the QX30 is not without compromises: owners often mention limited trunk space, along with some frustrations about manual seat controls and the entertainment setup.

Overall a great car, sporty look and fun to drive. I would have enjoyed it more with a Sunroof but it still a great car.

Nice looking SUV with beautiful interior but trunk is so narrow that you have to put rear seats down to fit a golf bag. That and the run flat tires with no spare tire (to switch to conventional tires down the road) were a deal breaker.

With a 3.67/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, the 2017 INFINITI QX30 lands in the appealing-but-compromised zone rather than the all-around winner category.
The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Is the 2017 INFINITI QX30 reliable?

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI QX30?
At 59.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment on the car matches what you expect from the trim and option package. Because the QX30’s appeal depends heavily on features and presentation, a clean, well-kept example matters more than usual.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Base trim comes standard with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, auto-dimming/heated side mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth seats, Bluetooth hands-free calling and streaming audio, 2 USB ports, and a backup camera. The Premium adds leather seating, power/heated front seats, and side mirrors that fold down when in reverse. The Luxury adds a Bose 10-speaker audio system, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lights, and heated windshield washers. The Sport gets 19-inch alloy wheels, unique front and rear fascias, upgraded brakes, suspension and exhaust finishers, and Dinamica sport seats and trim.
- Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 makes 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on some trims, and all-wheel drive is available on others. Fuel economy is 24 mpg city, 33 highway, 27 combined for the FWD model and 21 mpg city, 30 highway, 25 combined for AWD.
- Safety package: The available Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and a surround-view monitor with parking sensors. It also includes Intelligent Cruise Control++, which can operate in stop-and-go traffic.
- Infotainment: The QX30 uses an older single-screen touchscreen system with a basic controller in the center console. It is notable for allowing direct touch input, and the available LED package adds interior ambient lighting, automatic high beams, and headlights that turn with the wheel.
- Fuel efficiency: The FWD model returns 24 mpg city, 33 highway, 27 combined, while the AWD model returns 21 mpg city, 30 highway, 25 combined.
Which 2017 INFINITI QX30 trim should I buy?
The 2017 INFINITI QX30 is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Luxury, Premium, and Sport.
Here's the short version:
- Base: This is the entry point, and it already brings LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports, and a backup camera. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the QX30 without chasing luxury extras.
- Luxury: This is the most fully equipped trim in the lineup, adding a Bose 10-speaker audio system, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lights, and heated windshield washers. If you want the richest feature set, this is the one to target.
- Premium: This trim adds leather seating, power/heated front seats, and folding side mirrors when reversing. It is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale cabin without jumping all the way to the top trim.
- Sport: This FWD-only trim adds 19-inch wheels, unique front and rear fascias, upgraded brakes, suspension and exhaust finishers, and Dinamica sport seats and trim. It suits you if you care most about the sportier look and feel.
The available Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and a surround-view monitor with parking sensors.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 INFINITI QX30?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.
- Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 203 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.79% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 59.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,414, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 INFINITI QX30's resale value?
The current average of $11,838 sits slightly below last year's $13,122.
That decline suggests the QX30 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you own one and plan to sell later, the current pricing trend implies you should expect resale value to remain sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment. A clean, well-optioned example should hold up better than a rough one, but the market is still favoring shoppers more than sellers right now.
Is the 2017 INFINITI QX30 safe?
The 2017 INFINITI QX30 earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.
It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.
The standard safety equipment includes front and side-impact airbags, the LATCH child-seat anchoring system, Vehicle Dynamic Control, traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The available Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and a surround-view monitor with parking sensors, plus Intelligent Cruise Control++.
Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI QX30 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 59.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.79% compared with last year.
- The 2017 stands out for its unusual Mercedes-Benz-based platform, smooth driving experience, attractive design, advanced features, and beautiful interior.
The bottom line: If you want the QX30’s distinctive styling and premium feel, the 2017 is a reasonable year to target because pricing has eased and inventory is available. If you are especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest example you can find rather than stretching for the cheapest listing, since condition and history matter a lot in this market.
