Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 INFINITI Q60 4.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2017 INFINITI Q60 arrives fully redesigned, and that alone makes it stand out in the luxury sport coupe segment. Infiniti pairs the new look with new engines, a retuned transmission, and the second generation of Direct Adaptive Steering, aiming to bring more technology and theater to the formula. The result is a coupe that emphasizes striking styling and a modern, tech-heavy character rather than simply following the usual European playbook.
It also brings a new GT-R-related twin-turbo V6, a retuned 7-speed transmission, and a fully drive-by-wire setup. Those changes help give the Q60 impressive handling, and Infiniti clearly leans on that blend of performance and value as part of its appeal. At the same time, the car’s personality is not built around driver engagement in the traditional sense, since it does not offer either a dual-clutch automatic or a manual transmission.

I’ve owned my Q60RS for about a year and a half as of writing this. It’s safe to say that, I really, REALLY like this car. It’s got a perfect mix of mid 2010’s technology combined with all the premier engineering from the Nissan 370z and the Nissan GT-R. The Q60RS in AWD feels light, easy to drive, easy to control, and is so family friendly that once you kick it into Sport and Sport+, you hardly remember that the twin-turbo V6 hiding under the hood is still an absolute monster to be tamed. The car does have its downsides - it’s VERY persistent about warnings and issues that otherwise wouldn’t matter, such as front camera sensors not being available or an occasional check engine light even if nothing is wrong under the hood. Maybe that’s just with my Q60. The car is also a little bit towards the bottom of its league compared to other options in its MSRP price range - namely the 981 Porsche Cayman, the S197-II and S550-I / S550-II Ford Mustang lineup, the Gen 6 Camaro SS, etc. For a $50K-$60K car, I would expect it to be pretty fast if not luxurious - and while the car is both fast and luxurious, it could definitely prove itself a little more in the top speed game. Back in the 2000’s, 400 Horsepower was enough to get you up to 160 - 180MPH range, and by the early 2010’s, that was fairly default (as seen with the 2008 - 2012 Dodge Charger SRT-8, 2007 - 2012 Porsche 911 lineup ((997.1 and 997.2, etc))). This car packs 400 Horsepower exact, but only tops out around 155 Miles an Hour - I’m fairly certain that even the 370Z Nismo marks around that top speed. Regardless of its issues, the car is still an amazing drive - and if you can find one for the right price, I’d definitely recommend going for it. It’s the perfect entry level performance car for the prices it comes around in now (I purchased mine for around $25K @ around 89K Miles - most Q60RS range between $27K - $40K depending on mileage and condition). So, if you’re looking for something thats on par with some of the more popular sports cars of the mid 2010’s, this is definitely a go to!

At 44.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the electronics and driver-assistance features operate as intended.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base 2.0T brings LED head- and foglights, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power seats with leatherette, heated mirrors, 19-inch alloys, and a dual-touchscreen interface. The 2.0T Premium adds a standard sunroof and an upgraded Bose stereo, while the 3.0T Premium adds the twin-turbo V6 and more available equipment. The Red Sport 400 adds the 400-hp version of the V6, staggered forged wheels, paddle shifters, sport seats, and adaptive suspension. The best-value trim is the 3.0T Premium if you want the stronger engine without jumping all the way to the top performance model.
- Powertrain: The lineup includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a twin-turbo V6 in 300-hp and 400-hp forms. The 2.0T is smooth but not especially quick for the segment, while the 3.0T is the stronger all-around choice and the Red Sport 400 adds serious power.
- Safety package: The Driver Assistance package adds parking sensors front and rear, a 360-degree camera view, blind-spot monitoring, auto wipers, and auto braking front and rear with forward-collision warning. The Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot intervention, lane departure warning and intervention, and adaptive headlights with auto high beams. Some of these features are not available on the 2.0T trims.
- Infotainment: The Q60 uses dual touchscreens, and the interface can feel split between the two displays. The system would benefit from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are not mentioned as standard here.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.0T returns 22 city/30 highway mpg in rear-wheel-drive form and 21/28 mpg with all-wheel drive. The 3.0T is rated at 19/28 mpg with rear-wheel drive and 19/27 mpg with all-wheel drive. The Red Sport 400 is rated at 20 mpg city/27 highway with rear-wheel drive and 19/26 mpg with all-wheel drive.
Which 2017 INFINITI Q60 trim should I buy?
The 2017 INFINITI Q60 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 3.0T Premium, Red Sport 400, Silver Sport.
Here's the short version:
- 2.0T: This is the entry point if you want the lowest price and the core Q60 styling, but it is the least powerful choice and is best suited to shoppers who care most about value and appearance.
- 2.0T Premium: This adds the sunroof and upgraded Bose audio, making it a better everyday pick than the base trim if you want a more complete luxury feel without moving up to the V6.
- 3.0T Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it brings the stronger twin-turbo V6 and opens the door to more desirable options that are not available on the 2.0T trims.
- Red Sport 400: This is the performance flagship, with the 400-hp V6, sport-focused hardware, and the most aggressive setup in the lineup. It makes sense if you want maximum power and are willing to pay for it.
- Silver Sport: This later-arriving trim is equipped nearly identically to the Red Sport 400 but uses the 300-hp V6 and skinnier tires, so it sits between the 3.0T Premium and Red Sport 400 in character.
The safety-package trims are worth noting: the Driver Assistance and Technology packages add meaningful features, but some of the more advanced equipment is not available on the 2.0T trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 INFINITI Q60?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.
- Deal availability: 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 197 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.56% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 44.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $17,893, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 INFINITI Q60's resale value?
The current average of $18,782 sits slightly below last year's $20,102.
That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone.
Because the Q60 is a niche luxury sport coupe, well-kept examples should stand out more than average ones. If you maintain the car carefully and keep the history clean, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 safe?
It earns 7/10 safety score from our experts.
The Q60 has not yet been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It does come with full-length curtain-side airbags and a full suite of the usual airbags, and the Technology Package adds upgraded seatbelts that lock you in upon clicking them in place and tighten up pre-collision.
The available driver-assistance systems are extensive: autonomous braking forward and in reverse, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure and intervention, adaptive cruise, adaptive headlights with auto high beams, parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera view. Some of these systems are bundled into packages, so you should check carefully to make sure the car you’re considering has the safety equipment you want.
Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI Q60 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 44.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.56% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2017 stands out as a fully redesigned Q60 with new engines, a retuned transmission, and a modern tech-heavy character.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version of this coupe’s redesign, the 2017 is the one to focus on. If you’re shopping primarily on price, you can use the softened market and the available inventory to your advantage, but you should be selective about condition and equipment because the best examples will matter more than the cheapest ones.
