How much does the 2017 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have softened 2.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,166 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 4.56/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth and quiet ride, and useful features like heated seats and a moonroof, while also noting good handling. For you, that makes this Tucson a sensible pick if you want a compact SUV that emphasizes comfort, everyday usability, and value. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a relatively trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with comments about dependable day-to-day use and a comfortable, quiet ride. At the same time, some owners mention reliability concerns based on their own experience, so you should treat individual-condition checks as important rather than assuming every example will be equally solid. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but only if you verify maintenance history and overall condition carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any Tucson you’re seriously considering and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tire wear, and signs of uneven repair work, since those can reveal hidden issues. You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you want a smoother ownership experience over the long term.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,166 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,270, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $12,429 sits slightly below last year's $12,772.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you may not see rapid appreciation, so condition and mileage will matter a lot when it comes time to trade in or list privately. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still support resale, especially if the vehicle has a clean history and desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,255, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $12,429 average.
• It offers a redesigned interior with strong practicality and safety appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2017 is the stronger primary choice because it combines solid owner satisfaction, decent deal availability, and a softer price trend. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you value lower purchase price over the 2017’s added conveniences.
