The Azera was praised for its sharp appearance when it launched back in 2012. Fuel-economy figures stand at 20 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined for the base trim and 19, 28, and 22 for the Limited. Hyundai’s list of safety equipment for the Azera is quite extensive—both trims receive antilock brakes (ABS), blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert, a full set of airbags, traction and stability control, and Hyundai’s Blue Link telematics system. The Limited trim adds forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, high-intensity-discharge (HID) headlights, rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with stop/start technology. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the 2016 Azera its highest rating of Good on all crash tests.
