In the modern car market, the personal commuter coupe is something of a dying breed. LX-S, EX, and EX-L V6 trims come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. The EX-L comes with a continuously variable transmission with paddle shifters, which is also available on the LX-S and EX. A 6-speed automatic is available on the EX-L V6 and standard on the Touring. Fuel economy for I4 trims with the manual is 23 mpg city/32 highway/26 combined. With the CVT, that rises to 26/34/29. The EX-L V6 with the manual gets 18/28/21, and the V6 with the automatic gets 21/32/24. The Accord Coupe comes standard with a full array of front and side airbags, vehicle-stability assist with traction control, antilock braking, electronic brake-force distribution, a multi-angle rear-view camera with guidelines, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. All trims also come standard with Honda LaneWatch: like a rear-view camera for your right passenger-side blind spot, LaneWatch monitors the space on the right side of the car and presents the image live on one of the digital screens. It activates with the flip of the right-side turn signal and even has guidelines for determining how close a vehicle is in the lane to your right. Standard on the Touring and available on all other trims is a suite of advanced safety technologies called Honda Sensing. This array of equipment includes adaptive cruise control that will automatically match the speed of the car in front of it, a collision-mitigation braking system, lane-keeping assist, and a road-departure warning system.
