Why it stands out
The 2017 Genesis G80 is making its mark as a strong contender in the midsize luxury sedan segment thanks to its appealing combination of luxury, performance, and pricing. This vehicle was formerly known as the Hyundai Genesis, but the rebranding to Genesis adds a layer of prestige. With an expert rating of 8 / 10, its performance is noteworthy; it's available with either a robust 3.8-liter V6 or a powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine, both standardizing an 8-speed automatic transmission that contributes to its smooth ride and quiet cabin. Additionally, the G80 excels in safety with features like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, earning it the Top Safety Pick Plus designation from the IIHS. Owners are particularly drawn to its impressive value for money, with many favoring its luxury feel compared to costlier rivals like BMW and Audi. However, some drivers have noted minor complaints regarding seat comfort and the absence of certain options, such as a power trunk. These considerations balance its strengths, but the overall package remains compelling for buyers looking for a luxurious ride without the hefty price tag.

Beautiful vehicle, comfortable ride, and plenty of power. JD Power compares this to BMW, Audi, Cadillac, and Mercedes. Definitely a good value for what you get and holds its own with the legacy luxury brands.
