How much does the 2017 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 11.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 866 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 2017 GMC Yukon XL earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, luxury features, and strong performance for family trips and towing. The Yukon XL’s long-wheelbase layout and full-size SUV packaging make it especially appealing if you need room for passengers and cargo, while its upscale presentation helps it stand out among large family haulers.

The market also looks reasonably favorable, with 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers describe it as dependable for family use, towing, and long-distance comfort, and they repeatedly highlight its roomy cabin and strong overall ownership experience. That kind of feedback suggests the Yukon XL can be a reassuring choice if you want a large SUV you can count on over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure prior use and maintenance history are clean, since a large SUV can be costly if deferred upkeep has piled up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently, since those factors matter a lot on a large SUV like this.

If possible, compare multiple listings side by side so you can separate clean, well-kept examples from trucks that may have hidden wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 866 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,484, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $19,484 sits slightly below last year's $22,109.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face some price pressure if values continue to soften. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your position when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,306, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,484 average.
• It adds useful convenience and safety upgrades for everyday family use.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2017 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core Yukon XL strengths.
