Is the 2017 GMC Yukon a good car?

Yes — the 2017 GMC Yukon earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2017 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and trouble-free in the ways that matter most for everyday use, with praise centered on the vehicle’s strong ownership experience and long-term appeal. The combination of high satisfaction and broad praise for durability suggests you can approach used examples with confidence, though you should still verify maintenance history and overall condition before buying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 GMC Yukon?

At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you get too far into the process. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of prior body repair, uneven panel gaps, or wear that doesn’t match the mileage. Because this is a large, feature-rich SUV, you’ll also want to focus on cabin condition, seat comfort, and how well the electronics and convenience features work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,548 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,341, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $21,341 sits slightly below last year's $23,422.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the Yukon more attractive to buyers now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your resale position. Demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal in the full-size SUV segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want a well-liked full-size SUV with a good mix of features, value, and market availability. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than the newest one you can afford.
