Is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners consistently praise the spacious Stow ’n Go seating, the practical family-friendly layout, and the value you get for the money. The overview also highlights easy entry and exit, a roomy cabin, and comfortable seating for adults in all rows, which makes it especially useful if you want a minivan that prioritizes everyday convenience. With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable in day-to-day use, with value and useful features standing out over time. At the same time, some owners raise concerns about durability, so you should pay close attention to how each used example has aged. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by focusing on maintenance history and overall condition rather than assuming every example will age the same way.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan?

At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of wear that could affect long-term usability. Focus on overall condition, because a practical minivan like this is best bought on maintenance, body condition, and how well the interior and mechanicals have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,456 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,062, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan's resale value?

The current average of $10,249 sits slightly below last year's $11,070.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit how much value you lose if you buy carefully. For a future seller, the current market shows that condition and deal quality will matter a lot, because buyers are already comparing a wide range of listings. If you keep the van well maintained and present it cleanly, you improve your odds of standing out in a value-driven segment.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2017 if you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness in this generation. If your priority is simply finding the lowest possible entry price, a nearby year may also be worth a look, but the 2017 is the better all-around choice when you want a practical used minivan with broad appeal.
