There are 204 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Volt a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Volt earns a 4.82/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its excellent fuel economy and electric range, and many like being able to drive mostly on electric power while still having gasoline backup for longer trips. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Volt reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also highlights dependable everyday efficiency, with many drivers describing the car as a trouble-free way to cover most miles on electric power. That kind of ownership experience suggests the Volt can be a reassuring used buy if you want a car you can count on for commuting and routine driving.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the concept and more about how well the specific car has been maintained and used over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Volt?

At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden damage or repair quality issues. Focus closely on overall condition, especially signs of prior bodywork, interior wear, and anything that suggests the car was used heavily or repaired poorly. Because the Volt’s value depends on its efficiency and daily usability, a clean, well-kept example is worth more than one with uncertain history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Volt?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 204 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,778, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Volt's resale value?

The current average of $11,720 sits slightly below last year's $12,220.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. Even so, the Volt’s strong owner satisfaction and practical efficiency should help keep demand steady among shoppers who want a plug-in hybrid with real-world range flexibility.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Volt or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• It delivers electric driving most of the time while eliminating range anxiety.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger balance of owner satisfaction, current pricing, and market availability. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2016 is worth a look for its core appeal, but the 2017 is the better all-around target when you want a more current used-buying opportunity.
