How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 9.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,338 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

With a user rating of 3.8/5, the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban looks like a practical choice if you want a big, traditional full-size SUV with strong family utility. It emphasizes space, towing ability, and everyday usefulness, while also offering up to nine-passenger seating and available rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

It also brings useful features for shoppers who want a well-equipped large SUV, including automatic emergency braking, a rear-seat reminder system, Teen Driver technology, and available driver-assist and infotainment features. If you need a roomy, capable SUV for hauling people and cargo, this model fits that use case well, though its size and fuel thirst are part of the tradeoff.

34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban is presented as a straightforward, family-focused full-size SUV with core strengths that include space, towing ability, and a well-equipped cabin. It also keeps the generation’s broader set of convenience and safety features, which supports its appeal as a practical long-term utility vehicle.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large SUV like this can be costly to live with if prior maintenance was inconsistent, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body repairs, alignment, and any signs of incomplete accident repair. Because this is a large, heavily used family SUV, pay close attention to overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the vehicle still feels tight and well cared for on the road.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,338 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,148, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $19,192 sits slightly below last year's $21,096.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to mileage, condition, and documentation than to broad market momentum. If you keep the vehicle clean, well maintained, and accident-free, you’ll be in a better position to protect value later.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.03% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong primary choice if you want a full-size SUV with space, towing ability, and a broad set of family-friendly features. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
