Used 2017 Cadillac XT5 for Sale near Virginia

How much does the 2017 Cadillac XT5 cost?

Prices have softened 9.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,238 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Cadillac XT5 a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Cadillac XT5 earns a 4.82/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the comfortable cabin, smooth driving experience, stylish design, and safety features. That lines up with the XT5’s role as a lighter, roomier, more tech-focused luxury crossover, especially if you want a premium SUV that leans toward comfort and upscale presentation rather than a purely utilitarian feel.

The market also shows 33.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Cadillac XT5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, luxurious, and easy to live with, and it also highlights the XT5’s safety features as part of its appeal. The expert evaluation adds that Cadillac built the XT5 with a strong technology and luxury focus, which supports the impression of a well-equipped, confidence-inspiring crossover.

Cadillac also includes standard OnStar with automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle recovery, remote door control, and roadside assistance, which adds everyday ownership convenience.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some of the XT5’s more desirable features are tied to higher trims or options, so you’ll want to verify equipment and condition carefully before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Cadillac XT5?

At 60.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a long option list. Pay close attention to signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any evidence that the electronics or driver-assistance features aren’t working as they should.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models are already well equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a rear-view camera, parking sensors, keyless ignition and entry, remote start, dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, and an 8-speaker Bose system. Luxury adds leather, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and more comfort features, while Platinum brings the most upscale equipment and the most advanced tech.
• Powertrain: The XT5 uses a 3.6-liter V6 across the lineup, with 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. The engine delivers decent acceleration, but it can feel strained at higher revs, and the 8-speed transmission can be a little jerky in stop-and-go driving.
• Safety package: The Driver Awareness package adds forward-collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, auto high beams, and lane-departure warning and assist. The Driver Assist package adds adaptive cruise, automatic parking, and an upgraded collision-mitigation system. Some of these features are not standard on lower trims.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen with CUE, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and smartphone integration. The system also includes Bose audio, and the XT5 offers Qi wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.6-liter V6 is EPA estimated at 18 mpg city and 26 highway for a combined rating of 21 mpg. Real-world results can fall short of that figure, so fuel costs are worth factoring into your budget.

Which 2017 Cadillac XT5 trim should I buy?

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Luxury, Premium Luxury, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the value play if you want the XT5’s core luxury-crossover experience without stretching the budget. You still get the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bose audio, a rear-view camera, parking sensors, remote start, and a power liftgate, so it covers the essentials well.
• Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a meaningful jump in comfort and convenience with leather, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and more seat adjustment. It also starts to make the XT5 feel more fully premium without pushing too far upmarket.
• Premium Luxury: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it. It adds the Driver Awareness and Navigation packages, vented front seats, illuminated door handles, and continually adjusting suspension dampers, but some features still require additional options.
• Platinum: This is the top choice if you want the most complete XT5 experience. It brings premium leather, unique styling details, a hands-free power liftgate, heated outer seats, 3-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera view, and a head-up display, though some advanced safety equipment still requires the Driver Assist package.

For safety-focused shoppers, note that several driver-assistance features are still tied to packages rather than standard equipment, even on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Cadillac XT5?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,238 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,028, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Cadillac XT5's resale value?

The current average of $15,028 sits slightly below last year's $16,550.

That decline suggests the XT5 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less ideal if you plan to sell soon. A softer price trend can make it easier to get into the vehicle at a lower entry cost, but it also means future resale gains are unlikely to be strong unless the market shifts.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Cadillac XT5 safe?

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 has not been tested by NHTSA, but Cadillac says its full suite of airbags, traction and stability control systems, and available driver-assistance features should support strong protection.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The XT5’s available safety tech includes forward-collision alert and mitigation, lane-departure warning and correction, front pedestrian detection, parking sensors front and back, adaptive cruise with a following distance indicator, and an upgraded collision-mitigation system. Standard OnStar also adds automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle recovery, remote door control, and roadside assistance.

A key caveat is that much of the most advanced safety equipment is reserved for higher trims or optional packages, so you’ll want to confirm exactly what’s installed on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2017 Cadillac XT5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2017 XT5 was positioned as a lighter, roomier, more tech-focused replacement for the SRX, giving it a clear identity in Cadillac’s lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the XT5’s modern, comfort-first luxury-crossover formula and you find a clean example with the right equipment, the 2017 is a sensible buy. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and target the lower end of the market, but you should be extra selective about history, trim, and options because the best features are not always standard.
