How much does the 2017 BMW X3 cost?

Prices have softened 10.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,117 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, smooth ride, sporty performance, cabin comfort, and practical features. That fits a compact luxury SUV that emphasizes driving enjoyment while still giving you everyday usefulness and an upscale feel. With 34.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for the smooth ride, comfortable cabin, and practical day-to-day usability. That kind of positive long-term impression matters when you want a used luxury SUV you can count on.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that premium ownership can bring higher maintenance and repair costs, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 BMW X3?

At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your checklist, especially for suspension, electronics, and signs of uneven wear. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since premium ownership can make neglected examples more expensive to sort out.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,117 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,324, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $12,324 sits slightly below last year's $13,733.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your future value will depend heavily on how well you maintain the vehicle and how clean its history remains. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want a premium compact SUV with sporty handling and a refined cabin.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $17,902, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $12,324 average.
• It brings a complete redesign with a fully new third-generation X3.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the lower entry price and strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer redesign, the 2018 is the better upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2017 is the smarter buy.
