CarGurus Analysis: 2017 Audi A7

Summary
With 174 currently listed for sale and an average price of $19,566.00, 33.9% of 2017 Audi A7s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 Audi A7 5 / 5 stars.
62.1% of 2017 A7 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2017 Audi A7 stands out as a luxury fastback that blends the A6 sedan’s platform, interior design, and technology with a more emotional, coupe-like shape. That formula gives it a distinctive place in Audi’s lineup: it was meant for buyers who wanted sporty styling and performance without giving up the practicality of a four-door hatchback. Standard all-wheel drive adds to its appeal, and the car’s attractive fastback design and strong performance help explain why it remains a compelling used luxury choice.
For 2017, the first-generation A7 also benefits from the mid-cycle updates that brought a wider grille, revised front and rear fascia, updated LED lighting, a newer MMI system with a faster processor, and 4G LTE in-cabin internet connectivity. Some versions were initially fitted with Apple CarPlay and Android in 2017, adding to the car’s modern feel. The A7’s hatchback layout gives it more versatility than a traditional sedan, but the tradeoff is a smaller rear seating area, and the model is also pricier than the A6 and expensive to maintain.
As a used car, the 2017 Audi A7 is appealing because it delivers a lot of luxury equipment at a more affordable price than new luxury alternatives. It also offers a broad feature set for the year, including leather seats, power heated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, an eight-inch touchscreen on Premium Plus models, and available driver-assistance and comfort features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, head-up display, and a premium audio system.

The Audi RS7 was always my dream car. I cant afford it but I am extremely satisfied with the A7. I think its a beautifully styled car thats the best of everything. Luxury, sporty, and AWD. The craftsmanship is top notch, all the lines perfectly match up and the interior is amazing especially with the dark brown leather. I had the A6 before this pretty much identical inside, just not as stylish outside.

My last 2 cars were Lexus and I have to tell you the truth, this Audi beats them hands down. The interior design is just outstanding. The competition seats adds elegance and sportiness and the hatchback makes it soo nice to transport large objects(the seats also fold down for even more space). Power, you may ask? Well, theres plenty and more. You will not be left behind.

Beautiful car sleek curves. Handles smoothly with great acceleration. Electronics takes time to get used to as its a little challenging, if it had touch screen option would be easier to navigate.

Yes — the 2017 Audi A7 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a luxury fastback that combines sporty styling, standard all-wheel drive, and a practical four-door hatchback layout, so you get a distinctive design without giving up everyday usefulness. It also highlights a broad feature set for the year, including leather seats, heated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, and available driver-assistance and comfort features, which helps explain its appeal as a used luxury choice. 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2017 Audi A7 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview emphasizes standard all-wheel drive, a well-equipped cabin, and a refined luxury fastback formula that was designed to deliver sporty performance without sacrificing practicality. It also notes that the model is expensive to maintain, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and budget for ownership costs over time.
What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Audi A7?
At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body alignment, electronics, and signs of uneven wear, since this model’s luxury equipment and hatchback design make condition especially important. Prioritize examples with clean records, consistent maintenance, and evidence that expensive repairs were handled properly.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Audi A7?
This is a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.
- Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.93% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 63.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $19,035.95, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Audi A7's resale value?
The current average of $19,625 sits slightly below last year's $20,643.
That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The A7's distinctive styling and luxury feature set should help it hold interest among shoppers who want something more emotional than a conventional sedan. Because the model still carries strong owner satisfaction, well-kept examples should remain easier to market than neglected ones.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Audi A7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.93% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: You should focus on the 2017 if you want the strongest mix of updated tech, distinctive styling, and current market value in this generation. If you're especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 stands out as the more balanced choice when you want a well-equipped luxury fastback with broad appeal.
