At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether there are accident, title, or repair records. It also helps to check that the cabin electronics, visibility, and premium-fuel-related ownership costs fit your expectations.

What is the 2017 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $15,859 sits slightly below last year's $16,356.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit further downside if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, the key is entering ownership at a reasonable number so you have less room to lose. Strong demand for a well-liked, comfortable luxury crossover can help support resale, especially when the vehicle is clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,462, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,859 average.
• It brings a thorough update with upgraded powertrain, safety, and infotainment.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall ownership signal and are comfortable shopping the market carefully, the 2017 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the smarter value play.
