The Acura MDX SH-AWD has many features that are excellent. It would be nice if all levels had navigation, but not really needed.

Love this Acura MDX. SUV. Got the advance entertainment package . Came fully loaded . At first I was somewhat skeptical about the info system, but it’s not a problem. I find it easy to use. I highly recommend the car. I also looked at the Audi Q7, Volvo CC 90 T6 and the Infiniti QX60

How much does the 2017 Acura MDX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $17,885 |
| Year-Round Low | $17,347.73 |
| Year-Round High | $19,142.86 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $19,149 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.60% |
Prices have softened 6.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,047 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and conditions.
If you find a listing below $17,347.73, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2017 Acura MDX a good car?
Yes — the 4.72/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the blend of luxury, space, and safety features, along with the smooth ride and spacious interior. The available third row makes it especially appealing if you want a family-friendly SUV with practical seating flexibility, though some owners note the infotainment system can be confusing. With 31.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop carefully and still find value.
Is the 2017 Acura MDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to dependable day-to-day use, with praise for the smooth ride, solid quality, and overall confidence in the vehicle’s durability. Comments about fewer transmission issues than some competitors reinforce that this model year has a reputation buyers can count on. For used-car shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is buying a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Acura MDX?
At 63.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your checklist, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Focus on overall condition, including signs of wear in the interior and any issues with the infotainment system, since owner feedback highlights that area as a common frustration.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Acura MDX?
This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 63.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $17,347.73, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Acura MDX's resale value?
The current average of $17,885 sits slightly below last year's $19,149.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For future resale, a lower purchase price can reduce your depreciation exposure if you keep the vehicle in strong condition. Strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Acura MDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 63.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.60% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $14,859, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $17,885 average.
- It emphasizes safety, comfort, and family-friendly practicality.
The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, owner satisfaction, and inventory choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better value-oriented alternative, especially if you find one in excellent condition with a clean history.
