Yes — the 2016 Volvo S60 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its exceptional safety features, luxurious interior, and comfortable seating, and many also appreciate its performance. Is the 2016 Volvo S60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also describes the car as reliable, and it repeatedly comes up as a dependable, trouble-free choice for buyers who want a vehicle they can count on. That said, used-car reliability always depends on how the specific example was maintained, so your long-term ownership risk is lowest when you verify service history and buy the cleanest car you can find.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Volvo S60?

At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus closely on overall condition, especially signs of prior damage, uneven panel gaps, and any wear that suggests the car has had a harder life than the mileage alone would indicate.

What is the 2016 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $10,653 sits slightly below last year's $11,885.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be steadier if you choose a well-kept example and avoid overpaying today. Cars with strong owner satisfaction tend to hold buyer interest better, especially when they combine comfort, safety, and a premium image.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,898, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $10,653 average.
• It feels refreshed and updated for its model year.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and shopping depth, the 2016 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still offers a compelling Volvo character.
