How much does the 2016 Toyota Camry cost?

There are 1,894 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2016 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 4.57/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 7.17/10. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the smooth, quiet ride, spacious interior, and cargo capacity. The review summary also highlights reliability and feature content, which fits a car aimed at practical daily driving rather than standout performance.

That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at a well-rounded midsize sedan that’s especially appealing if you value comfort, space, and an easy ownership experience. 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2016 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The review summary reinforces that with praise for reliability, and the expert commentary also describes the car as safe, simple, and well-executed.

The ownership picture is helped by the Camry’s reputation for dependable hybrid technology and its generally trouble-free, long-term appeal. The expert cost-effectiveness notes also point to Toyota’s experience with hybrid systems as part of the car’s value proposition.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about finding a well-kept example with the right maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota Camry?

At 45.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or shows uneven wear. Focus on overall condition, because the market includes a mix of cleaner examples and cars with prior damage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base-level equipment is already strong, with an intuitive infotainment setup and good visibility, while XLE examples add more luxury-oriented content and available convenience features.
• Powertrain: The Camry uses a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder/electric motor combination with a 244.8-volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack, and the hybrid setup is described as smooth and responsive.
• Safety package: Available driver-assistance features include Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, lane-departure alert, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, and a pre-collision system.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Entune Premium, and the tech package includes wireless charging along with USB and Aux inputs.
• Fuel efficiency: The Camry Hybrid is rated at 40 mpg city and 38 mpg highway.

Which 2016 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2016 Toyota Camry is offered in 1 trim level: Camry Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

The Camry Hybrid is the trim to focus on if you want the model’s core strengths: smooth hybrid operation, strong space, and a well-equipped cabin. It already brings the features and efficiency that define this car, so there isn’t a lower trim to trade down to or a more expensive gas-model trim to step up into.

The safety package includes a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, plus 10 airbags, ABS, traction control, and stability control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota Camry?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,894 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 45.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,432, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $13,863 sits slightly above last year's $13,836.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that usually means you’re less exposed to sudden depreciation shocks than you would be in a softer market.

Because pricing has held steady, a clean, well-maintained example should remain easier to position competitively when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2016 Toyota Camry is a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earns five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with five-star ratings in side impacts and four-star ratings for frontal crash tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment includes 10 airbags, full curtain and dual side-knee airbags, 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, traction control, and stability control. Available driver-assistance features include Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, lane-departure alert, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, and a pre-collision system.

One caveat is the note about traction: the review says the tires can be severely lacking in grip, especially in wet conditions, which is worth keeping in mind if you drive in poor weather.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review says the Camry Hybrid is competent in all categories, with strong space and safety credentials.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,258, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,863 average.
• It adds more polished styling and expanded infotainment and safety tech.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $14,986, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $13,863 average.
• It is the last model year of the generation and remains a very competent family sedan.

The bottom line: You should buy the 2016 if you want a stable-price, well-liked Camry with strong safety and ownership appeal. If your priority is saving money, the 2015 is the better value play; if you want the newest version in this generation, the 2017 is the step-up choice.
