There are 231 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2016 Tesla Model X a good car?

Generally — the 4.31/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, comfort, and innovative features, and many also like the unique design and spacious interior. If you want a tech-forward electric SUV with two- and three-row seating for up to seven passengers, this model year fits that use case well. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Tesla Model X reliable?

Owners rate it 4.31/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights dependable day-to-day appeal through its performance, comfort, and innovative features. At the same time, some owners mention higher repair costs for specific components, so long-term ownership can be more expensive if you run into issues. For used buyers, that means reliability may be acceptable, but you should budget carefully for maintenance and repairs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Tesla Model X?

At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that understands EVs and Tesla-specific systems. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and whether the Falcon Wing doors, interior features, and other high-cost components operate properly. Because repair costs can be significant on some parts, a clean, well-documented example is worth extra attention.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Tesla Model X?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 231 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,372, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Tesla Model X's resale value?

The current average of $22,427 sits slightly below last year's $24,300.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the vehicle easier to buy now but may also limit short-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot because buyers tend to reward cleaner examples in a market with mixed history. Strong pricing discipline today can help you avoid overpaying for a vehicle that may not rebound quickly.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.31/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Tesla Model X or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.70% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the lower-priced entry point and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2016 can make sense. If you are more price-sensitive and want to maximize your odds of finding a cleaner, better-documented example, keep comparing listings closely and be ready to move on a well-kept vehicle that checks out in history and inspection.
