Is the 2016 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability and power, especially for heavy-duty towing, and many also like the comfort and decent fuel economy, particularly in single rear wheel configurations. For you, that means this truck fits best if you want a spacious, capable heavy-duty pickup that can handle serious work without feeling stripped down. Is the 2016 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a reliable, dependable truck that owners feel confident using for heavy-duty work and towing. That kind of feedback matters if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul, because it suggests the ownership experience is generally trouble-free when the truck has been maintained well. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how hard a specific truck has been worked.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 RAM 3500?

At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean trucks from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing or other heavy-duty work. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, and signs of hard use, since those details can matter more than mileage alone on a truck like this.

What is the 2016 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $32,583 sits slightly below last year's $35,194.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays under pressure. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, especially on a heavy-duty truck where buyers pay close attention to how the vehicle was used. Strong demand from shoppers who need towing and hauling capability should still help support value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.42% compared with last year.
