How much does the 2016 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 6.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,775 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, towing capability, comfort, and reliability, and the truck’s heavy-duty setup makes it appealing if you want a capable workhorse that still feels comfortable for everyday driving. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability alongside comfort and strong performance, which is encouraging if you want a truck you can count on over time. That said, some owners mention transmission concerns in higher-mileage trucks without service history, so long-term ownership risk is lower when maintenance records are complete.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 RAM 2500?

At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the truck has higher mileage or a limited service record. Put inspection priority on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and evidence of deferred maintenance. Focus on overall condition and documentation, since a well-kept truck is more likely to deliver the durability you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,775 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,521, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $27,941 sits slightly below last year's $29,769.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can help you enter ownership at a lower cost. For a future seller, the current trend means resale value may be steadier if the truck is well maintained and documented, but you should not expect rapid appreciation. Trucks with strong demand and clean histories tend to hold attention better when the market is already showing healthy shopping activity.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,680, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $27,941 average.
• It broadens the truck’s appeal with more trims and added livability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and meaningful deal availability. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a broader mix of comfort-focused features, the 2017 is the secondary path to consider.
