How much does the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC cost?

Prices have softened 10.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 554 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It is positioned as a premium compact SUV that emphasizes comfort, refinement, and everyday usefulness rather than off-road toughness, and it comes well equipped with features like adaptive braking, a rear-view camera, a power tailgate, and electrically adjustable front seats. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a luxury crossover that prioritizes daily comfort and practicality. With 37.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC does not have a standout reliability reputation, and owners have reported suspension and electrical issues, along with piston and cylinder problems on some GLC 300 models. That means you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a neglected example that could bring higher repair costs later.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

At 64.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with accident or title issues. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to suspension, electrical systems, and any signs of engine-related concerns. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a well-kept example is likely to be a better ownership bet than one that simply looks inexpensive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 554 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,096, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $13,096 sits slightly below last year's $14,583.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on how well your vehicle is maintained and how clean its history is. If you keep mileage reasonable and preserve condition, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $15,477, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $13,096 average.
• It leans harder into performance, especially if you want a more focused driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and meaningful deal availability. If you are willing to spend more for a newer alternative and want a more performance-oriented feel, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
