What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi Q5?

At 59.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and maintenance patterns before you commit. A pre-purchase inspection should get extra attention on the suspension, sunroof, and engine-related wear, since those areas can affect ownership costs. Focus on overall condition and service documentation, because a well-kept example is much more important here than simply finding the lowest sticker price.

What is the 2016 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $11,101 sits slightly below last year's $12,510.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. The Q5’s premium image and broad appeal should continue to support demand, especially for clean, well-documented examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 Audi Q5 makes the most sense if you want a refined luxury SUV and you can verify that the specific vehicle has been well maintained. If you’re price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a cleaner or better-equipped example offers a stronger value for only a small increase in cost. Either way, prioritize condition and service history over mileage alone, because that will matter most for ownership costs and long-term satisfaction.
