Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA stands out as a small luxury crossover that blends a sleek shape with premium-brand appeal, and it was designed for buyers who wanted a Mercedes crossover without moving up to a larger SUV. Its compact footprint and entry-level positioning make it distinctive, while the available all-wheel drive and premium badge add to its appeal. 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the GLA 250, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the model also offers the higher-performance GLA 45 AMG. The overview points to a premium feel and useful updates for the year, including a standard 7-inch infotainment screen, keyless ignition, dual-zone climate control, and smartphone integration. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its compact packaging and premium hardware can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, interior, and mechanical condition, since the GLA’s compact luxury packaging makes wear and repair history especially relevant. Focus on how well the car has been maintained and whether any prior damage could affect long-term ownership costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 432 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,158, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA's resale value?

The current average of $12,197 sits slightly below last year's $13,851.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, buying at the right price matters because a softer market can compress your margin when it is time to trade in or list privately. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the updated features and compact luxury feel at a lower current price than last year. If you're especially price-sensitive, the nearby model years can still be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as the better buy when you find a clean, well-priced example with solid history.
