Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA stands out as a small luxury crossover that blends a sleek shape with premium-brand appeal, and it was designed for buyers who wanted a Mercedes crossover without moving up to a larger SUV. Its compact footprint and entry-level positioning make it distinctive, while the available all-wheel drive and premium badge add to its appeal. With 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA’s appeal comes from its premium feel, compact size, and useful updates like a standard 7-inch infotainment screen, keyless ignition, dual-zone climate control, and smartphone integration. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic give it a clear everyday-use focus, while the GLA 45 AMG adds a much stronger performance angle. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its small, style-first design leaves less room for error if you need more practicality than the cabin and cargo area can comfortably provide.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced listing. Focus on overall condition, since the GLA’s compact, premium-oriented design makes it especially important to confirm that the interior, electronics, and bodywork have been well cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 449 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,939, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA's resale value?

The current average of $11,942 sits slightly below last year's $14,035.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model more approachable for you as a buyer but also means future resale gains may be limited if prices stay soft. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value. The compact luxury crossover format and premium-brand appeal can still help sustain demand among shoppers looking for an entry-level Mercedes.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.91% compared with last year.
