How much does the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 3.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,016 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its classic styling, comfortable drive, and the performance of the 6-cylinder engine, and the model’s upscale feel and technology-rich cabin make it appealing if you want a luxury sedan that still feels current. It also fits well if you value a polished daily driver with a premium interior and a broad mix of comfort and performance. With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable and comfortable, and the AI summary also points to a dependable ownership experience for many drivers. That said, you should still expect used-luxury ownership to reward careful maintenance records and a thorough pre-purchase check, especially if you want to minimize long-term repair risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 55.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate you’re serious about and confirm that the title, accident history, and service records line up. Put inspection priority on body condition, brake feel, infotainment operation, and evidence of past repairs, since those are the kinds of issues that can affect both ownership costs and day-to-day satisfaction. If possible, focus on examples with clear maintenance documentation and a clean, consistent condition story.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,016 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,998, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $15,040 sits slightly below last year's $15,591.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the model continues to soften. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot, because well-kept examples tend to hold buyer interest better than neglected ones. Strong maintenance history and a clean accident record should help you protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2016 if you want a well-liked, well-equipped luxury sedan and you can verify condition carefully. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains the stronger pick when you want a balance of owner satisfaction, market availability, and a softer price trend.
