Generally — the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a 4.33/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a compact luxury sedan with a strong style-first identity. The overview points to a car that delivers a dramatic coupe-like shape, an upscale Mercedes feel, and a sporty, easy-to-live-with character. Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the CLA’s appeal comes from its premium character and balanced sporty personality rather than from any standout practicality advantage. For used buyers, that means your long-term ownership experience is likely to depend heavily on how well the car was maintained and how comfortably you can live with its interior layout.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

At 51.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch signs of prior damage or deferred maintenance. Focus closely on body condition, panel alignment, and interior wear, since those details matter a lot when you are shopping a premium compact car with a style-driven appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Inventory: There are 256 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,066, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $12,085 sits slightly below last year's $13,509.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit near-term upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, your best protection is buying well and choosing a clean, well-kept example that stands out from the broader pool of listings. A lower entry price can help you manage depreciation risk, especially if you avoid overpaying today.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,749, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $12,085 average.
• It sharpens the model’s style-first, budget-friendly Mercedes appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with a softer market. If you are willing to pay more for the next year’s updated appeal, the 2017 is the secondary path for shoppers who care more about the newer model than the savings.
