How much does the 2016 INFINITI Q50 cost?

Prices have softened 3.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 484 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, and our experts score it 6.7/10. The expert test drive rating is 6.7/10, and the model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its performance, power, comfort, handling, and spaciousness, which makes it appealing if you want a stylish luxury sedan that can also work for family duty. The overview also frames it as an attractive, comfortable, and technologically sophisticated alternative to the usual segment choices, though its identity can still feel a bit murky depending on what you want from it.

With 26.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on performance, comfort, handling, and spaciousness. The expert drive notes also support that impression by describing the car as enjoyable to drive and well sorted in normal use, even if the steering feel is not universally loved.

The available maintenance perk language also helps the ownership picture, since the connected-services package includes free access for the first year of ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with the right equipment and service history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

At 45.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition, equipment, and how the car drives, since the Q50’s appeal depends heavily on getting the right configuration and a clean example.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.0t Premium is the entry point, and it can feel light on standard luxury and safety equipment compared with better-equipped versions.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 208 horsepower and is paired with a 7-speed automatic; it is efficient enough for daily use, but it is the least energetic setup.
• Safety package: The available Driver Assistance package adds predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Some additional driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims.
• Infotainment: Premium models use a dual-screen infotainment setup with a 14-speaker Bose audio system, but there is no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0t returned 26 mpg in combined driving in the expert test, and the reviewer averaged 26.3 mpg on a test loop.

Which 2016 INFINITI Q50 trim should I buy?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0t, 2.0t Premium, 3.0t, Sport, and Red Sport 400.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0t: This is the least expensive way into the Q50, but it is best if you mainly want the styling and basic luxury feel rather than the fullest feature set.
• 2.0t Premium: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the more desirable comfort and tech content without jumping all the way to the higher-performance models.
• 3.0t: Choose this if you want a stronger powertrain and a more satisfying driving experience than the base 2.0-liter setup.
• Sport: This is the better pick if you want a more serious driver-focused Q50 with a stronger performance emphasis.
• Red Sport 400: This is the top performance choice if you want the most powerful and most aggressive version of the lineup.

For safety equipment, the Driver Assistance package is the key add-on on lower trims, while some additional driver-assistance features are reserved for the 3.0t, Hybrid, Sport, and Red Sport 400.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 484 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 45.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,248, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 INFINITI Q50's resale value?

The current average of $13,522 sits slightly below last year's $13,989.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 safe?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The available Driver Assistance package includes predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims can add blind-spot intervention, lane-departure warning with lane-departure prevention, active lane control, adaptive headlights, and pre-crash seat belts.

One caveat is that the safety writeup notes that neither NHTSA nor IIHS carried forward the Q50’s frontal-impact test ratings for 2016, so you should pay close attention to the presence of the available driver-assistance systems on any used example.

Should I buy a 2016 INFINITI Q50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved for 2016, it feels more credible as a legitimate luxury sports sedan.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,669, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,522 average.
• It offers a wide range of personalities, from comfortable and quick to fuel-efficient or fast and furious.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market value story and the updated 2016 character, the 2016 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2015 can still make sense, especially if you find a clean, well-equipped example.

How does the 2016 INFINITI Q50 compare to the 2016 BMW 3 Series?

Our experts score the 2016 INFINITI Q50 6.7/10 and the 2016 BMW 3 Series 7.5/10.

The Q50 gives you more horsepower and a lower average used price, while the 3 Series brings better fuel economy, more listings, and a higher share of accident-free examples. If you want the stronger value on paper and a more powerful engine, the Q50 has the edge; if you want the broader market, better efficiency, and the higher expert score, the BMW is the safer bet.
